At the School Law Center, we have successfully represented parents and children with disabilities in special education mediation, conciliation conferences, informal settlement negotiations, Minnesota Department of Education Complaints, Complaints to the United States Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights, Complaints to the Minnesota Department of Human Rights, and at administrative and court hearings and appeals.School Law Center handles all legal issues related to school and education law, including:
- Special education violations
- Discrimination and other civil rights claims including harassment and bullying
- Discipline matters including expulsion
- Juvenile court proceedings implicating educational failure
We have successfully represented students in federal court claims of sexual harassment and bullying, of discrimination in educational opportunities, in disciplinary proceedings including proposed expulsions, and in juvenile court delinquency and truancy matters that implicate educational failures.
