With COVID-19 still circulating around the world, the CDC has recently released guidance to help people protect themselves. Experts know more about the virus than ever and everyday people now have more tools to fight it however, this new guidance acknowledges that the COVID-19 pandemic is not over. The good news is that we are at a point where it won’t severely interrupt our everyday lives anymore.
The new guidance suggests:
- Staying up to date with your vaccinations.
- Wearing a high-quality mask for 10 days and getting tested after 5 days if you were exposed to COVID-19.
- Isolating from others when you have COVID-19 or suspect you have COVID-19.
- Staying home for at least 5 days and isolating from everyone in your household if you test positive.
- Wearing a high-quality mask when you are around anyone and have tested positive for the virus.
- Restarting isolation if you start feeling symptoms of the virus after you have ended isolation.
- Isolating for 10 days if you have a weakened immune system and have tested positive for COVID-19.
- Keeping up to date with local community levels of COVID-19.
